Fort Lauderdale Neighborhood Spotlight – Sunrise Neighborhood

The Sunrise neighborhood of Fort Lauderdale is made up of two parts, Sunrise Key and Sunrise Intracoastal. Sunrise is one of the most desirable areas in town as it is home to many beautiful waterfront properties and close to downtown Fort Lauderdale, Ocean Airport, Seaport, Las Olas Blvd, and more.

Sunrise Key is a small island within the city of Fort Lauderdale made up of single-family waterfront homes, most with docks of various sizes. Sunrise Key comprises five finger isles, which from an aerial perspective look like a key. This is a very popular location for avid boaters because it has no fixed bridges to the ocean and is only accessible by car via Karen Drive to Sunrise Key Blvd.

In Sunrise Intracoastal, you can find many different types of homes, including single-family homes, condos, apartments, and co-ops. The single-family home portion of Sunrise Intracoastal is very private as it is gated and only accessible by two streets in an effort to reduce drive-through traffic. The townhomes, condos, and co-ops are further inland, few with direct water access.
