How to Host Last-Minute Guests

Spending the holidays with those who mean the most to you is a wonderful time! However, with so many things to do and people to see, hosting last-minute guests can make things stressful. Here are some tips for making your guests feel warmly welcomed:

Towels:Place towels out for your guests’ arrival. If several people are sharing a bathroom, use different colored towels so they can easily tell which ones are theirs.

Toiletries:Place travel-sized toiletries in a basket in the bathroom for your guests. Many stores sell travel-sized items, but you may have some of these items around your home as well.

Closets: Make a space in the guest closet for suitcases and some hanging clothes. Leave some empty hangers for your guests to hang their items upon arrival. You can also leave a small ironing board and an iron or steamer for their convenience.

Cleaning: Sometimes short-notice guests limit the window of time you have to do a deep cleaning before they show up at your house. Focus on areas such the kitchen, bathrooms and surfaces that need wiping down.

Instructions: Print a list of Wi-Finetworks, passwords, TV instructions and anything else your guests may need. This will alleviate confusion, and your guests won’t have to ask for these things.
