Neighborhood spotlight - Tarpon River

Lying just North of Davie Boulevard and west of Andrews Avenue, Tarpon River is a highly sought-after area in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The close proximity to downtown Fort Lauderdale, the charming tree-lined streets and the vibrant parks that surround the neighborhood are all factors that appeal to homebuyers and residents alike.

The majority of homes in Tarpon River are single-family homes built in the 1950s, most being single-story, but some two-story with balconies as well. Additionally, buyers may find duplexes, bungalow style homes and apartments. Tarpon River has a mixture of frame and concrete block houses, most on streets lined with beautiful shrubbery. Some homes have pools and small gardens. In addition to the modest neighborhood homes, homebuyers may also find high-end waterfront homes here as well as new construction townhomes and apartment buildings.

Low crime rates and low speed limits throughout the one-square-mile neighborhood make this an attractive place for families. Tarpon River is part of the Broward County School System, with zoning for Croissant Park Elementary School, New River Middle School and Stranahan High School.
